Overview

EigenGov is a system of people, products, and processes designed to support the long-term reliability and growth of the EigenLayer ecosystem and its protocol. It's based on a highly-collaborative network of small, sovereign teams called Councils, who are authorized to make key decisions on behalf of the ecosystem. All Councils are held accountable to community-legitimate, transparency-balanced participation via public proposal and review processes.

The Grants Oversight Council is the governing body responsible for verifying Transparency Reports containing the Grants Team’s retrospective on the season’s Community Initiative Grants allocations.

The Grants Oversight Council is the first step in ensuring the Foundation’s responsible stewardship of grants for Community Initiatives. Community Initiatives represent 15% of the total initial EIGEN supply earmarked for users, developers, and community contributors through initiatives such as incentive programs and grants. The Community Initiatives for the first season can be found in this blog post. Responsibilities and authorities are detailed in the Grants Oversight Council section. The official Grants Oversight Council Charter can be found in the EigenGov GitHub repository.

For teams interested in learning more about Community Initiative Grants, the grants portal will be coming soon.
