Community Guidelines

Last Revised on September 10, 2024

We created these Community Guidelines (these “Community Guidelines”) to support our mission of creating a positive and friendly environment for participants in the EigenLayer community, including the Forum and Research Forum, and any other interactive platforms or services made available by Eigen Foundation (collectively, the “Forums”). These Community Guidelines apply to all content on our Forums and to all users of our Forums, and outline proper use of our Forums.

Our Terms of Service (the “Terms”) also have specific rules of conduct and other restrictions that users must abide by when using the Forums. As a condition of your use of our Forums, you agree to abide by both these Community Guidelines and the Terms. In the event of any conflict between the Terms and these Community Guidelines, the Terms will supersede and control. All capitalized terms used but not defined in these Community Guidelines have the respective meanings set forth in the Terms.

Research Forum Discussion Topics. The Research Forum is intended for specific discussions about EigenLayer research and the protocol, including specific discussions about, among other things, restaking, scalability, interoperability, and actively validated services. The Research Forum is not the proper place to have discussions about the market or basics of EigenLayer, nor is it the proper place to post your support requests.

Respect Other Users. Please treat others in the Forums with dignity and respect. Do not harass, bully, use name calling, ad hominem attacks, impersonate or intimidate other users or anyone in our community and do not promote or participate in hate speech. We will not tolerate users who harass, threaten violence, or use hate speech against other users or community members, as determined by us in our sole discretion.

Keep it Clean. Do not share vulgar or sexually explicit content or otherwise make adult content available to other users of the Forums. You cannot share or promote others to share content or links that depict pornographic, sexually suggestive, or violent imagery or videos. This is a public forum, and search engines index these discussions. Keep the language, links, and images safe for family and friends.

Respect our Forums. Do not use bots, post spam or engage in spam-like behavior on the Forums. This may include advertisements of products or services.

Post Only Your Own Stuff. Post your own authentic content. Do not post any content that belongs to or was copied from someone else without the owner’s permission. Do not misrepresent yourself or falsely imply that you are affiliated with or endorsed by the Organization or any other entity or person. Do not post content that violates the intellectual property rights of others, including trademark, copyright and the right of publicity.

If You See a Problem, Flag it. Each user of the Forums is an important part of the community. When you see bad behavior by other users, don’t reply. It encourages bad behavior by acknowledging it, consumes your energy, and wastes everyone’s time. Just flag it. Moderators will review these flags and flagged content may be taken down, either automatically or by moderator intervention.

If you violate these Community Guidelines, we may remove offending content or terminate or suspend your account, and we reserve the right to take any action that we may deem appropriate in response to a violation or suspected violation of these Community Guidelines. These Community Guidelines may be updated from time to time, in which case we will update the “Last Revised” date at the top of these Community Guidelines.
