What is the EIGEN Season 2 Stakedrop?​

The EIGEN Season 2 Stakedrop is the second distribution of EIGEN tokens recognizing and rewarding key contributors and participants across the EigenLayer ecosystem. Tokens will be distributed to Stakers, Operators, Ecosystem Partners, and the Community.

  • Season 2 Snapshot Date: August 15th, 2024 at 22:26:59 UTC (For Stakers and Operators)
  • Season 2 Allocation: Approximately 87 million EIGEN tokens are allocated for Season 2, representing around 5.2% of the initial EIGEN supply. (The remaining ~3% of the 15% total allocation of token supply will be distributed in further programs to the community.)

  • Season 2 Claim Date: Claims are open as of September 16th, 2024 until March 16th, 2025

Who is eligible to participate in Season 2 Stakedrop?​

  • Stakers & Operators: Participants who actively staked and operated nodes during Season 2.
  • Ecosystem Partners: AVSs, LRTs, Rollups, RaaS providers, and other key contributors to EigenLayer.
  • Community: Early advocates, contributors, and projects that have supported EigenLayer from its inception.

How do I claim my EIGEN tokens for Season 2 Stakedrop?​

Season 2 Claims are open as of September 16th, 2024 . Stakers, and Ecosystem Partners can claim their tokens via the claims portal at claims.eigenfoundation.org.

Community members need to complete a social verification process before claiming here: verify.eigenfoundation.org

Operators will need to sign a message to a dedicated smart contract with a new claim address of their choice. This address will be used for claiming tokens allocated to their operator address. Details on the smart contract and the submission process will be provided soon. Please wait for further instructions before attempting to connect your operator wallet.

I’m an LRT (Liquid restaking token) user. How do I receive my stakedrop?​

LRT users who have directly engaged with the LRTs can claim their season 2 stakedrop rewards through their respective LRT protocols. This approach is consistent with the evolving model for payments and future programmatic incentives, where LRT protocols will handle reward distribution. Decisions regarding Season 2 stakedrop allocations will be made by the LRT projects in collaboration with their communities.

Season 2 rewards can be checked on September 16th at claims.eigenfoundation.org.

How was my Season 2 stakedrop calculated?​

Stakedrop distributions are calculated based on a staker’s pro-rata share of ETH-hours and are fully linear. No floor was set to avoid sybil attacks as mentioned in our prior blog post.

What are ETH hours, and why do they matter?​

  • ETH-hours – The amount of ETH staked (times hours) over March 15th to August 15, 2024 by users who staked Native ETH and LSTs (Liquid Staking Tokens).

How much EIGEN is allocated to Stakers & Operators, Ecosystem Partners, and Community members for Season 2?​

  • Approximately 70 million EIGEN (4.2% of FDV) is allocated to Stakers & Operators.
  • Approximately 11 million EIGEN (~0.65% of FDV) is allocated to Ecosystem Partners.
  • Approximately 6 million EIGEN (0.35% of FDV) is allocated to Community Members.

Who qualifies as a Community Member and how will they receive their rewards?​

Community Members include early advocates, contributors, and projects that have supported EigenLayer from its inception. Categories include Open Source, Twitter, Discord, Podcasts, Analysts, Farcaster, Blogs, and Hackathon participants.

Rewards are based on specific criteria, such as engagement levels, contributions to content creation, participation in hackathons, and more. Eligible community members can claim their tokens via the claims portal at claims.eigenfoundation.org on September 16th, 2024.

What is the social verification process for community members?​

The social verification process requires community members to verify their identity and link their wallets for the claim. The social verification link is here. Please complete the process to verify your identity by September 13, 2024, 11:59 pm PST.

Who qualifies as an Ecosystem Partner and how will they receive their rewards?​

Ecosystem Partners include AVSs, LRTs, Rollups, RaaS providers, and other key contributors to the EigenLayer ecosystem. Eligible partners can claim their tokens via the claims portal at claims.eigenfoundation.org on September 16th.

To honor the contributions of all ecosystem partners, each participant will receive equal rewards.
